Backgammon Privacy Policy

1. Which applications this covers

This policy governs the two Backgammon applications published by Arcane Void LLC ("we", "us"). For these applications it replaces the company privacy policy.

Backgammon	The free edition, package com.arcanevoid.backgammon. Shows advertising.
Backgammon Pro	The paid edition, package com.arcanevoid.backgammon.pro. Contains no advertising and no advertising software.

2. What stays on your device

Both editions store the following in the application's private storage. None of it is transmitted to us, and we have no way to read it:

• Your settings: board theme, opponent, avatar, playing speed, sound, move confirmation, pip counts and point numbers.
• The game in progress, and the record of games you finished, with the statistics, error rates and achievements computed from them.
• The random material used for the dice commitment described in the terms of use, including any seed you enter yourself.
• Whether you completed the introduction, and which lessons you have played.

There is no account, no sign-in, and no server of ours holding a copy. If Android's own backup service is turned on for your device, Android copies application data to your Google Drive. That copy belongs to you and sits inside your Google account; we cannot see it or reach it.

3. Advertising in the free edition

Not yet switched on. The version of Backgammon submitted to Google Play on 4 September 2026 contains the advertising library but never starts it: it loads no advertisement and sends nothing to Google. This section describes what the free edition does once advertising is switched on. Before that happens, the effective date at the top of this page will change.

The free edition displays a banner on its home screen and a video advertisement after a finished game. Both are served by Google AdMob, which is part of Google. Google acts as an independent controller of the data it collects, and its handling of that data is governed by the Google privacy policy and by how Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services.

To select, deliver, cap and count advertisements, and to detect fraudulent clicks, Google receives:

• Your device's advertising identifier, which is resettable and is not your name.
• Your IP address, from which Google derives an approximate location. The application requests no location permission and reads no positioning hardware.
• Device and application information: model, operating system version, language, screen size, and the identifier of this application.
• What happened with the advertisement: that it was shown, and whether you interacted with it.

We cap the content rating of what Google may serve at PG, so advertisements rated for teenage or mature audiences are not shown in this application.

We receive from Google only counts and revenue totals for the application as a whole. We do not receive, and cannot request, information about an individual player.

The INTERNET permission that Android shows for the free edition exists for this advertising and for nothing else.

4. Your choices about advertising

• Buy Backgammon Pro. It contains no advertising software, so nothing is sent.
• Reset or delete your advertising identifier. On Android this is under Settings → Privacy → Ads. Deleting it stops personalised advertising across every application on the device.
• Change your consent. Where a consent form applies to you, Settings → Advertising choices reopens it, and your new answer takes effect immediately.
• Change what Google shows you. Google's controls are at My Ad Center.

5. If you are in the EEA, the United Kingdom or Switzerland

Advertising there rests on your consent. The free edition asks for it through Google's User Messaging Platform before the first advertisement, and requests no advertisement until you have answered. Your answer is recorded on your device by Google's software; we never receive it, and you can change it at any time from Settings → Advertising choices.

For the advertising described in section 3, Google determines the purposes and means of the processing and is the controller you deal with. Requests about that data — access, erasure, objection, or withdrawal of a consent you gave Google — go to Google through the controls linked above, because we hold none of it and cannot act on it for you.

For everything else, we process no personal data at all: the game data in section 2 never leaves your device.

6. Purchases

Backgammon Pro is sold through Google Play. Google takes the payment, holds the payment details, and tells the application only whether the purchase exists. We never see or store a card number, a billing address, or your name. Refunds are handled by Google Play under its own terms.

7. What these applications do not do

Neither edition contains analytics, crash reporting, attribution or user-tracking software. Neither reads your contacts, your files, your camera, your microphone, your calendar or your location. Neither shows content from other players, and neither has any means of sending a message.

8. Children

The free edition carries advertising and is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. Backgammon Pro collects nothing from anyone, of any age. If you believe a child provided personal information to Google through the advertising in the free edition, use Google's controls above, and write to us and we will help you find the right route.

9. Deleting your data

Uninstalling the application removes everything it stored on your device. Android's "clear data" in the application's system settings does the same without removing the application. We hold no copy, so there is nothing for you to ask us to erase.

10. Your rights

Where the GDPR, the UK GDPR, the CCPA or comparable law gives you a right against a company that holds personal information about you, we satisfy it in the only way available to us: we hold none. For the advertising data, exercise those rights with Google.

We do not sell personal information and we have never done so. We share none, because we receive none.

11. If this changes

If either edition starts collecting or transmitting anything not described here, we will update this page and change the effective date above before that change reaches you, and we will say plainly what is collected, by whom, and why.
